Slush Recipe --

Here is the slush recipe promised from the 4th of July Barbecue -- had a couple requests for it. And, I made it again for our Resilient Solutions, Inc. party tonight (so much fun -- we had 25 people at our house for a barbecue!)

Limelight Banana Slush --

6 c. water, 2 c. sugar, 5 bananas. Put in blender. Add: 1 (12 oz.) frozen lemonade, 2 (12 oz.) orange juice. Freeze. When ready to use, thaw and add 7-up (2 qt). Makes 6 quarts. I usually put it in a punch bowl and makes a great slush.

As you can imagine my depth perception is pretty 'off' -- I do much better when I don't rely on my limited, distorted vision. I learned many wonderful blind skills in cooking class that I often forget and do not use -- and instead make a big mess in our kitchen!! One of them occurred tonight with my spilling about 1/4 of the slush all over the kitchen counter and down onto the floor -- Cricket was so excited for a minute thinking she was going to benefit from this mishap. While I took Cricket into the other room so she didn't get covered in slush, Steve cleaned it all up and scrubbed the blender. Love you and thanks so much Steve.

That sounds like a delicious slush recipe. Thanks, I'll make it one of these days. Hey, you don't need limited vision to make a mess in the kitchen. Desma & Dakota stake out their spots in the kitchen when I'm cooking. They know that I will drop something & they're there to clean up whatever I drop. Ha!
