Sunshine & Love

Smile Cricket! Aren't these such cute little happy road blocks :) she is in between!
We were so happy to find some sunshine for a few days!  We ran the trails, walked and explored the trails with Cricket, cheered on a friend that was in a run, and enjoyed time with my parents.  No picture with them :< in my cute necklace and boots in black and brown they gave me with birthday money.  Fun!  Back home to 10 degree weather but mid-week a balmy 39 degrees is expected - that will feel warm :).
We can't forget the reason for this three-day holiday:  Martin Luther King Day.  One among many quotes that I love from him:

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

It looks very warm and inviting there. And that is one of MOM's favorite quotes as well.

That is a great quote. Of course, up here in Canada, we don't have Martin Luther King day.
I bet you really enjoyed those warm days away.

So wonderful you got to feel the warmth of the sun, and as the beautiful quote from MLK Jr. references, feel the love of others!!

We felt the love in Chicago that day for sure. Thanks for posting that poignant quote -- so true.

What a wonderful quote from Dr. King. We could use some bright sunny (and warm!) days here in southwestern Ohio. It's snowing again. The plow trucks concentrate on the important roads (i.e. most used, most likely to help people get to work or school). Ours is not one of those .... :)
