Trusting. Retinitis Pigmentosa.

In Santa Cruz, we visited the Natural Bridges.  When someone is describing, I try to visualize it in my mind.   It sure helps when you can touch to get an understanding of the formation.  How cool that Steve found a rock similar shape to the Natural Bridge formation.

I've been searching for just the right dress for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Holiday Luncheon in San Francisco in a couple weeks. I asked one of my friends to be on the lookout for something that she thought I might like. She found a dress that I am so excited about and earrings that are so fun. As she was trying to explain the earrings to me, I said it will be quicker if I just feel them and get a sense of the design which apparently has the same design as the dress!  The dress is being altered. Last night Steve and I went to the mall and I tried on about 20 dresses, sigh, so I was extra excited (Steve too!) when my friend found this one that is just right.    It is so helpful to have a few people I really trust to help me with shopping for clothes.

Grocery shopping today.  I had more cash in my wallet than I like to carry around and so used it to pay for the groceries today.  I think I've forgotten how to count out cash.  It seemed to take forever to get it all counted out with my money organization system.  I think I'll stick to swiping a card as often as possible.

Trust was a part of the yoga retreat.  Trust in the unknowing -- another lesson learned from Retinitis Pigmentosa (and so much other teachers in life, right!).

Trying to stay in Thanksgiving mode ... but the Nativity sets are moving in.

What a beautiful photo. I bet in person that was some of nature's finest!!!!

Stay with Tom the Turkey just a few more days & then you can switch right into Christmas. Poor Tom, he doesn't get a fair shake anymore.

Hi there Becky,
I have an idea...
In some small, ironic way, we (as your readers) share some of your disability. Since we cannot experience your immediate environment, we too cannot take in it's full glory. Now here's the idea...
What about putting up photos that your friends describe to you - and let us readers try and explain our responses to them? That way you will be able to experience them vicariously. (Also in a different way - through the responses of your blogging friends)
For example, lets take this current photo:
When I personally look at it, I feel absolute "awe" for the strength of the creative process. I cannot begin to imagine the steady power of the waves that ventured to carve out the weaker parts of that rock formation - to produce that awesome hole in it.
I can also imagine the crashing sound of the sea - at high tide - which contributes to it.
The warm sand under my feet.
The feelings of challenge - of the photographer - as he/she tried to capture that particular frame.
Does this work? What do you think?
sending lotsaluv and best wishes for your luncheon.

Your dad had the idea that I should put out one Nativity set per day and remember where we got it and why I enjoy it. Well, that lasted one day and then I figured it would be the 4th of July before I got them all out so more are appearing each day. Loved the rock - so thoughtful of Steve
