I Appreciate Voting

After work, we stopped to vote.   We walked in and after signing in, they asked me if I would like an accessible booth that had the options of large print, contrast, and speech.  Simple, but I appreciate this privilege and also the many people that have advocated over the years for this accessibility.  I came home and emailed to thank one of those advocates. It hasn't always been this way. Confession: last year I must not have voted. I don't remember the details of that day as we always, well almost always, vote. Two years ago, I recall Kendall took me to vote.  He read it all to me with his opinions thrown in there.   We laughed and it was a fun mother/son moment. There was a big snowstorm and I wore my black houndstooth coat. We had just returned from our amazing trip to Greece.   Random information that I remember.  This year it was empowering to walk in with my guide dog and vote!  Simply appreciative of the strides being made in life for those who are blind.

It doesn't matter how we vote, but it surely matters that we vote. Thanks Becky!

Yes, I am glad you were given the accessibility to vote in a manner that you preferred. I voted and I didn't need any assistance...just point the way and I'll go. ;)
