My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

I Appreciate

November is one of my favorite months. Gratitude is the message felt around. In our house we pull out our paper Tom Turkey and Wooden Tom Turkey . Share in our virtual Tom Turkey. What do you appreciate on this day? My family is at the top of the list of My Daily Gratitudes. My life is rich and full as a wife, mother, daughter, and sister.

This month I plan to record specifics of the day of which I appreciate.
Steve, Cricket and I were able to spend three days in St. George. We ran each day.  I appreciate legs that are allowing me to run.  It is becoming an amazing experience to trust myself, a guide, and a tether to run.  For a while with an open path, I ran by myself with Steve nearby.  It was amazing.    It was hot and in that moment I felt such appreciation to be alive and to be able to run.
Sunday morning we were able to go for a walk.  Again, another beautiful day where my legs gave their all for me to enjoy the walk with Cricket and Steve.  I appreciate Steve so much, and as we walked along I appreciate his legs, too!  What a joy to laugh and giggle each day.  I appreciate  this sweet dog so much words can't even begin to describe.  I appreciate her ability to be cheesy like me for the camera.  When three is said, we both pose.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow..

Awesome that you got to run. Years ago, I saw a picture of a blind runner using a guide wire. Thought that was cool.
