My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Quality of the Season

There is something real soothing about the picture below (Cricket snuggled up & snoring away). After I give her a hug and tell her she's my little snuggle bug, it puts me in a calm, peaceful state.
Love the holiday message received from yoga last night: Be mindful of how you think. Be mindful of the self-talk that is running through your head. If you see resent, dread, guilt, anger ... you can take a deep breath, let it go and say to yourself 'reset'! Then begin to think of what is beautiful in your life. Be mindful of what you are willing to say yes to! Consider rescheduling or (yikes!) even saying no to what takes you out of the Spirit. It's easier to feel positive when you love what you're doing... Thanks, Corena.

Our dogs sure know how to relax and take it easy, don't they?! We could definitely learn a thing or two from them.

I have a hard time saying no to people, but saying no to some things allows us to say yes to the things we really want to do. Like, saying no to that Christmas party that you really don't want to go to, allows you to say yes to curling up at home (like Cricket on her bed), eating popcorn, and watching an old movie with your family. Thinking of it that way makes saying no a little easier!

Hi Becky! Thanks for your theraputic ideas! Truly, your comments really do give me a completely different perspective on the way I think through things! Maybe you could start doing therapist sessions over your blog lol! Just kidding... I know that there are certain ethical guidelines you have to follow. I'm studying welfare at University, so I'm familiar with those sorts of things. Keep up with the bloging!
