Book Club

Tonight was my first book club - our book we read (or listened to!) was The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls. I really enjoyed reading this book and what a fascinating story ... made for great discussion this evening. I recall a few months ago telling a neighbor that a book club sounded like fun and she was surprised that I could be in a book club where I was blind. Ah, still so much education to do. I laughed and explained the wonderful technology that is out there ... so many ways to read now! The lady that invited me to join this book club happened to be a vision teacher for kids who are blind so didn't even wonder how I was going to read the book - knew the options available. Steve and I enjoyed listening to the Glass Castle on two drives to St. George (11 hours of listening). I told him he could come discuss the book with the ladies but he declined. When I came home he asked what was our next book we are going to be reading.

Forgive the sighted, for we know not how ignorant we are. Sometimes we just say things and then realize how dumb it was. :)

As usual, Cricket is looking gorgeous. I am working from home with my precious at my feet...
