Beautiful Moment

In gratitude
Cricket and I flew home from Portland today. We have taken this flight many times over the years. I actually think today was Cricket's 100th flight.  (I know we are close - will need to do the math to make sure!) Cricket is a fabulous frequent flier.  Today walking through that airport brought back memories of my first flight home with my first guide Pantera 16 years ago! Today breezing through the airport, I found myself remembering my cute young kids running alongside trying to keep up with me. Steve said to them - mom is going at her pace again.  Perhaps because I have been travelling for the past three weeks with a cane, I really felt the sense of freedom from my guide almost like that first experience. I smiled remembering this great memory as Cricket was happily guiding me through the busy airport.   Indeed, a beautiful moment of the day.

So glad that you are able to have Cricket back at your side. I could almost feel those memories with you from your description in the post. Bittersweet and beautiful.
