A little R & R

First of all, congratulations to my friends Brenda and Melissa for running the Ogden Marathon on Saturday and my friend Shannon for running the Ogden 1/2! All morning on Saturday, I kept thinking of them!  I had signed up and was training to be with them up to two months ago when I broke my foot on mile 16 run.

I was looking forward to Thursday, May 16th - the doctor told me to run a mile and see how my foot felt. It had felt great walking and cycling so I was hopeful that it was ready for running. Well, shortly after we began this brief run I recognized that it was painful. Perhaps, I should have listened to my foot :), but I kept running. I was with friends on a beautiful morning!  Surrendering to the fact that, back running isn't the path quite yet.

So, we went to St. George for the weekend to enjoy some cycling, movies, and downtime. We cycled over 50 miles and loved it! We were so hungry by the time we arrived at Breakfast at Tifiny's in beautiful Santa Clara. It was delicious!

We also enjoyed seeing the movie "42" -- highly recommend and easy to follow (without seeing the screen).

We always enjoy doing a little shopping in St. George, too. My favorite finds at Gap: a polka dot coat (started at $130 and it was $35 ... fun!) and polka dot flats. I'm not sure why St. George is such a fun place to shop ... lots of great stores in close vicinity, Steve is with me and he is such a great helper and shopper, relaxing and generally not a time schedule -- whatever, we usually come back with some treasures -- this time they are polka dotted :).

How was your weekend?

Congrats to your friends in the marathon!! Me and MOM's friend Marty ran the race and she came in 1st in her age group. We think all the runners and the walkers too are just wonderful and to do it in that DOWNPOUR, well all we can say is WOW! Cricket looks happy to be in St. George and not in a down pour. Glad you got some wonderful down time.
Blessings,
Goose

Oh it looks like you ate at the Creperie that we had wanted to try, while we were there with you. Looks like we need to come back & visit again. Missing you both.
Sorry your foot is not back to running just yet. Patience dear friend.
