Scentimental

Steve and I had the privilege to present a fireside tonight on Nurturing Your Marriage.  It was a lot of fun!  We pulled out our tandem bike my brother gave us several years ago as our visual aid.  (There are some similarities in keeping your tandem and marriage going strong!)  I texted my brother to tell him once again how awesome his gift was ... I hope I can score on one Christmas gift like he did on that one this year!

This might just seem like a large spool of red ribbon.  This spool of ribbon was bought - wow, almost 20 years ago, on the last time I drove with my kids before I had to hang up the car keys!   I took them to one of our favorite little stores - the basement (like a dollar store) and we had our last little outing with mom driving.  This crazy red ribbon has somehow followed us through two moves and is now almost empty as I am wrapping neighbor gifts!  I'm feeling a little scentimental about this little spool of ribbon.

These darn black tights are hair grabbers which doesn't work with a very cute yellow lab that goes everywhere.  They aren't scentimental so will have to go!

I am off on an adventure this week!  Leaving Tuesday morning to meet three friends in San Francisco to go to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Holiday Luncheon.  It is going to be awesome!  You can go to Events link to read all about it! Getting a little scentimental remembering speaking at this luncheon last year with Steve, my parents, and my aunt and uncle there.

Just finished up the semester with two interns that have been in our office.  They have been amazing and are going to be great future therapists.  I felt scentimental as I hugged them and wished them well on their journey.

Feeling Scentimental?

I get the ribbon thing. :) When I was younger we used the same giant roll of wrapping paper for YEARS. For birthdays, and everything. It was in the house we moved into, and when it finally ran out, it was definitely one of those sentimental feelings!

It's funny, when I read "scentimental," I thought you were going to talk about smells or scents that bring back memories (get it? scent-imental?) :)

Nice to see some things that follow us, or that we just don't want to waste, so we use them until the very last is gone.
