Teamwork. Running. Retinitis Pigmentosa.

My legs are still slightly telling me that I completed a 1/2 marathon on Saturday.  Trying to put words into the experience. Deep Gratitude for my friend who ran 13.1 miles with me every step together in stride.  (not to mention all the training and being my guide from the time we got out of the car to crossed the finish line and reunited with Cricket!)  As I was running along chatting or listening at times it would cross my mind that she was keeping track of not only what was in her path but mine as well. A quick left for a sudden pot hole in the road, etc, etc, etc,. Forever grateful. Gratitude for my body for meeting the challenge. Gratitude for a beautiful organized course through tulip fields, waterfalls, golf course, with the mountains on each side of us. Visualizing it was joyful. It was a course with many twists and turns, various road textures - gravel, cobbled sidewalks, and road. We did it. Kind people cheering us on with many commenting on our teamwork.
We did it.
My two biggest fans were near the finish line cheering us on.
Later in the day we enjoyed a beautiful hike with the family.   I'm a lucky girl.

Becky, congratulations on a great run and a good time on a tough course! So incredibly impressed with your accomplishments. I have to admit I was concerned with your safety due to the varied terrain (cobblestones, cart paths, small dirt section) and the twists and turns of the course. Not only did you finish but you finished well--376 runners finished after you!!

Congratulations and we hope to have you back.
