My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Sunday Ramblings

In trying to make 'lemons out of lemonade' with Cricket not being able to work right now, in getting ready for church I thought what do I have in my closet that I don't wear because it isn't really Cricket friendly, in other words - grabs the hair! I remembered this black skirt. So I wore it to church :).   Another week for Cricket before she gets her stitches out and then he will evaluate.  Oh, how I hope soon!  Its not easy on either one of us.  This birthday sign for birthdays has got to be about 20 years old!
My ipad was all set to play Did you think to pray? for my Sunday School lesson.  I could not get the music to play!  Three of the kids in my class tried also to help me out.  So we hummed the tune. As soon as we got home and was showing Steve trying to figure out why ... it played!

Another message shared today - I've heard it before but really appreciated hearing it again:

Charity
Real charity is not something you give away;
it is something that you acquire and make a part of yourself.
And when the virtue of charity becomes implanted in your heart, you are never the same again.
Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other,
when we don't judge or categorize someone else,
when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet.
Charity is accepting someones differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings;
having patience with someone who has let us down;
or resisting the impulse to become offended
when someone doesn't handle something the way we might have hoped.
Charity is refusing to take advantage of an other's weakness
and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us.
Charity is expecting the best of each other.
None of us need one more person bashing
or pointing out where we have failed or fallen short.
Most of us are already well aware of the areas in which we are weak.
What each of us does need is
family, friends, employers, and brothers and sisters who support us,
who have the patience to teach us,'
who believe in us,
and who believe we're trying to do the best we can,
in spite of our weaknesses.
Whatever happened to giving each other the benefit of the doubt?
Whatever happened to hoping that another person would succeed or achieve?
What ever happened to rooting for each other?

A friend and I are planning a 1/2 marathon in 9 weeks.  This will be my third and really looking forward to our journey!  As you can see, my friend  that I ran the first two with is VERY busy.

One of the kids in my sunday school class today - shared this quote.  I've heard it before so not sure who to credit but I love that he shared it!  I'm learning so much from this kids.

You decide every moment of every day who you are and what you believe in.  You get a second chance every second.

We are getting ready to have family over to celebrate Kendall's birthday.  Love you so much, Kendall!  I know he doesn't read my blog, however, one of his comments that made me laugh when he thought I was bored was:  maybe you could go blog or something mom :)!

Happy Sunday!
