Light the fire within

Last night we enjoyed an evening of reliving the Olympics in SLC at the ten-year anniversary with amazing figure skating performances. Awesome evening remembering so many inspiring stories and our own fun, special  memories as a family.   As I've been cleaning, I pulled out our flag, pins, and berets to reminisce.

(Sorry you were cut off in this picture, Cricket)

Ten years ago I was working at the Moran Eye Center as a counselor during the Olympics. Pantera and I had a lengthy commute on the bus which included a transfer downtown.  I remember it was so much fun to talk with people on the bus and around town from all over the world.

Our family attended several events during the Olympics.  One of the favorite memories was speed skating where Ohno won silver.  The top three fell - and the one in fourth place won the gold and he won silver.  There was talk that he had lost gold.  He said, I didn't lose gold - I won silver.  What an example of reframing how we look at life :).  Of course, he went on to win a gold at a future race, too.  Many of the activities and memories we enjoyed were also free.  We remembered getting up early to see the torch come through our town.  We enjoyed time in Park City.  Fun times.  Thanks, Natalie for a fun evening. I feel energized to Light the fire within

After yard work yesterday, today we woke up to snow ... lots of it!

It was a great time for SLC I think.
My best friends daughter was in the opening ceremonies (one of the many kids they used)
AND....same friends BROTHER, was one of the choreographers for the opening and closing ceremonies !!!
He is brilliant.
Then, he was invited to Greece to help them with theirs.
