Acknowledge the Positive

Cricket and I along with our teen  girls group spent some time finding a positive about ourselves with each letter of our name.
This bear has taken the journey to each of the girls home as a simple reminder to be kind to themselves.  We don't motivate by beating ourselves up. Unfortunately, it was still easier for them to write those negative thoughts than positive. But, if they can atleast recognize that is an unhealthy message playing, it makes it a little easier to try to change the channel in our mind. We reminded ourselves to STOP S = Stop, T = Take a breath, O = Observe, and P = Proceed. Mindfulness based Stress Reduction Workbook, Bob Stahl, Elisha Goldstein.  And in the end, all left including Cricket with a card with some of their many positive attributes.

Love Crickets list. It always seems hard to find things to write down about ourselves that are Positive..and Awesome.
Great program for those girls who participated in your group.

STOP - I'll remember that! What good advice for people of all ages with different trials. You always have such positive posts Becky! And you look darling in that coat and scarf from your previous post by the way!

Oh, I love this positive, see beautiful thinking in the form of an acrostic poem. What a wonderful idea with the bear too. He takes on a part of their culture as well.
