Holiday Spirit

Friday my dear friend and I went to a Christmas Carol.  It was a very special experience, and we both left feeling we had gained new insight about Scrooge and lessons learned from him and application into our lives (okay, the joys of being a therapist and taking life to a deeper level as some would say :).  Lunch afterwards - cozy soup, and an extended lunch meant bringing in Cricket's fleece so she could also be comfortable during lunch time.  We were finishing up lunch and a woman came over and handed me some Gourmet Tails treats for Cricket.   She said, something like ... I've been watching your dog and just wanted to make sure she got a treat for her good work and sweetness.  So she had walked over to Petco and purchased a little package of treats for Cricket and come back to give it to us!

I was touched by her kindness - her efforts (Petco is across the parking lot from Paradise) her reaching out to a stranger with the simple message of caring.  She gave us the treats, wished us Merry Christmas, we thanked her and she left.  It was very touching and such a kind, heartfelt gesture.

(Note:  as a guide dog Cricket does not get treats from others - I was appreciative that this lady gave me the treats and asked if I could give them to Cricket if/when it was okay.  She will share the treats with her buddy,  Dahlia .)

How very sweet and she truly embodied the Holiday spirit. I hope Cricket enjoyed her treats and that you and your family had a wonderful Christmas.

What a lovely gesture - Cricket certainly deserves a holiday treat, but we understand that she can't take treats from strangers. We hope your holidays have been happy, and we wish you and your family a happy New Year. A special hug for Cricket.
