The Little Things

Just came back in from a run with a friend that haven't seen in a while. So much fun to enjoy her company and also come back from a chilly morning, warm! The hot water is ready for a bath, and I find myself reflecting on the quote: Most human beings have an almost infinite capacity for taking things for granted. Aldous Huxley. I don't think much about the nice hot water ... until the heater goes out. The warmth of the house is a given ... the electricity ... list goes on, right. Healthy Cricket that greets me at the door when I returned.

My gratitude journal today reminds to notice those little things that can easily be taken for granted. They abound all around.

I was just having this conversation with someone, about how we take everything for granted. Hot water is a glorious thing. Right now, I'm trying to appreciate my delicious cup of coffee, my space heater, Cabana at my feet.
