My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Getting back up

There is an old Chinese proverb that says,”Fall down 7 times, Get up 8.”

We grow and evolve the most from our mistakes and mishaps than we do our successes. In fact, it can be from our mistakes and mishaps that we, in turn, FIND our success.  Taken from the Breathe website.  We are going to a yoga retreat sponsored by their studio in November.  I am grateful the yoga retreat is only a day and a half, and we are including a few additional days of other activities.  I emailed the studio to let them know that I was in a cast and could I still participate?  Its a little tricky to do down dog with a cast.  I was telling my friend that this broken arm is trickier than blindness.  She said, really?  I said yes - which one did I have to put my yoga pass on hold for?
I have been shocked by how many people have asked me if I am going to quit riding a bike, because I fell and broke my arm.  Are you serious?  No!   We have spent the past thirteen years having such a great time with our bike - three broken bones in this time frame is not bad!  I broke them doing something I love with someone I love.   Life is good.

If you love something you can't give it up. After a few minor ski accidents, I was asked if I would continue to ski. Of course!!
