Pooh's Wisdom

I like the simplicity of Winnie the Pooh:

Don't underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering.
--Winnie the Pooh

Contemplation, meditation, a moment  of quietness brings groundedness and gratitude to my heart.  Each day I find myself in awe at the depths of the challenges as individuals we carry and also inspired by the resiliency and ability that we are able to carry on and find joy.

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.
--Winnie the Pooh

This is my request to Steve, my husband that I adore.  He lights up my world and tells me each day he is a lucky guy to be married to me.   I am a blessed girl.  This past week we learned he has skin cancer and yesterday had another chunk the size of a nickel taken off the top of his head.  (Ouch!)  Hoping and praying that it shows clear when it returns, and it heals well.  Lifetime instructions are lots of sunscreen (which he is so rigorous about doing), always wear a hat (dr told me not to give him grief even when he wears his hats inside), and be on the alert for more spots.   Glad that his souvenir of vacations are hats!  Currently some of the places that I would like to pick him up a new hat are:  Peru, Phillippines, Spain, Vermont, Savannah, Georgia and Costa Rica.  Also, Washington, DC and New York, NY.   I also really hope we can get back to the San Juan Islands for some tandem bike riding & kayaking - amazing.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.  So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.  Catch the trade winds in your sails.  Explore.  Dream.  Discover.

I hope Steve is recuperating well and feeling well enough to go to the conference.

I love the San Juan islands! We were there 16 years ago and haven't been back, but I want to. It's so idyllic and would be a great place for biking.

Hope you can make some of those hat-buying trips soon!

Prayers to you & Steve. I'm sure he'll get a favorable report. Oh I would love to repeat our San Juan trip. Next time I would rather stay in a bed & breafast after a day of kayaking versus camping in a tent.
