I Appreciate

I appreciate pulling out Christmas socks and remembering that they came from a sweet friend last year.
I appreciate Steve's patience when I was feeling overwhelmed on what to choose for a 'thank you' gift for tonight for our Grief and the Holidays. He went to three stores, described options, helped me set up the room and office, and just is the best for me!

I appreciate Shannon and another great run, today. Today was 3.5 miles and, we did it! It just makes my heart smile.

I appreciate the yumminess of Gingerbread Cookies from Cutlers. They are DELICIOUS. I would love you each to try one.

Tonight I asked our group, who have all had such difficult losses in their lives, what have you appreciated. Their responses remind me the value of a friend to simply being there and listening.

stopped, and talked and hugged.
cried with me.
my friend called me for weeks after my husband died - each day and let me talk. she listened.
have a dear friend who has remembered every birth and death date of my child for 10 years.
invited me to share a memory of my loved one.
let me cry and talk.
wrapped their arms around my family.
included my girls in activities.
my sister called me every week after my husband became ill.
my sister-in-law has taken the time to sit down together with me and listen. the simple act of being there and just listening.
the people who came to me and listened without saying much.

I appreciate the people in these people's lives who have been there and listened.

I appreciate coming home to a sweet card from a friend, just because. Thanks, Debi. I love and appreciate you.

I appreciate your willingness to put your life 'out there' on your blog for all the world to see. The world is a better place cause you're in it!
Happy Thanksgiving!

True friends will always be there to listen to you, even if you're talking about the same thing/feelings over and over again. Not everyone can say they have that kind of friend. I thank God everyday that I do :)

Love this Becky! Your Christmas socks are darling (and so are you in that grey sweater!), your Steve is such a doll, and what a great reminder to be there for friends and to just listen when they need you.

I appreciate you sharing your beautiful life with us all!
