We were able to spend the morning at the Bountiful Temple withour friends, Paul and Phyllis. Paul and I were diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa near the same time 27 or so years ago. We met when our kids were young. We have shared so much together. It is a special friendship. For part of the experience at the temple, Steve was Paul's sighted guide and Phyllis' was mine. Apparently, Steve has some awesome sighted guide techniques that Paul noticed and asked him to share with Phyllis. Over the years we have worked out some helpful techniques. (Steve, will you be my guest blogger and share your tips.)
Afterwards, we came over to our home for lunch. The routine is: they invite us over to their home and Phyllis cooks an amazing meal. Our turn, we go to Costco and see what the latest fun pre-made meal is that we can cook. I consider it a fine domestic moment! Today for dessert I baked a pumpkin spice quick bread (mix at costco) in cute mini bundt cake pans. My expansion of the recipe was to add chocolate chips and cream cheese frosting. Yummy. I asked if they wanted the recipe, but we all knew where it came from. We had spinach salad, a fruit salad that I make with 2 cans of Dole Tropical Fruit Salad 1/2 drained and dry lemon pudding mixed in. Easy. The main dish was from Costco, too. I love the decorating part of setting the table fun and enjoying the time with friends.

Nice to have good friends.
I am, like you, an innovative chef.
Sounds like a perfectly wonderful day spent with friends and special experiences.
Costco rules.
I can't wait to go to the temple again...it's always a little tricky with a nursing baby that won't take a bottle to get there!
You were in good company as well!
