My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Resilient. Having Someone Believe in You.

Research states, (that always sounds so official and I know I should dig up the actual research ... trust me on it) that our resilient path is helped when we have the support of others who believe in us. If we hear that you can do it, i believe in you, i'm here for you
it helps so much. I am so grateful for those who have cheered me on - parents, husband- always. My children, friends, colleagues, an encouraging comment on my blog, a supportive email, so many mentors. Yes, ultimately we must believe in ourselves, but the power of others believing in us gives us wings to fly or run.

When I mentioned that I wanted to start running, my friend Shannon was willing to learn about being my guide runner. We have been running each week, and I look forward to our time together. She has encouraged me along and believes that I can complete this run with her on Saturday!

What have you done because someone believed in you?

Share your story of Resilience. I would love to share your Resilient Journey on my blog. Email me at becky.lpc@gmail.com

I remember when I was writing my Master's Thesis I just didn't How I was going to do it. Didn' feel I had time (worked), had family concerns and wondered if I was even smart enough. Well, your Dad was there for me just like he is there for you. He read and reread the darn thing just to reassure me it was ok. Really does help!!

They say it takes just one person to guide a child on a healthy and
productive path, to stimulate resilience and self confidence. I don't think that's just true of children. We all can use the support of someone who believes in us.

Keep on running!!! Truly, I believe in you, and that's so easy considering how awesome you are.

Oh, I totally get you on the concept of having someone believe in you. Sometimes, I've wished that I had that for a little extra boost at the end.
