A New on the Favorite List: Tiburon

Cricket spent last Tuesday in the great care at Guide Dogs for the Blind Kennel.  Fun surprise to have a tour  while we stopped in --the puppies were in the kennels. ADORABLE.
We planned to bike over to Angel Island.  There are no rentals available in Sausalito or Tiburon- offseason and we didn't want to go back into the city.  We drove to Tiburon instead
and took a ferry over to Angel Island.
There were bike rentals on the island but not tandem bikes.  I like adventure but riding a single bike didn't feel real safe.  We opted to hike the Island.
This was quite the hike to hang on to a sighted guide.  Steve and I have a system that works pretty good.  We had the added challenge of trying to make the loop around the island with a time deadline of the last ferry leaving.  We had five minutes to spare!
We enjoyed a yummy treat at this nice restaurant in Tiburon before picking up Cricket at the kennel.  We returned the next morning for crepes.

We finished the evening with a visit to Stinson Beach and this lookout point.

Cricket was so happy as we entered this restaurant the next morning.  Nice, fresh water.  As we left, the water wasn't clean and she wouldn't drink from it.  She waited until we offered her clean water.

One last picture before we go to the airport for Cricket's Flight # 47.

I returned home recharged (spent six days off the computer and very little work phone calls)  I look forward to our next getaway.  Hope to return to this beautiful area again.

Oh, only one advocacy adventure on this trip. It was with our car rental.  To be continued...

Dear Becky
As you know...I'm new to your blog and I've been glancing at all your wonderful pictures. I know that you have probably not experienced your own pictures, so I wanted to tell you how beautiful they are! You have an amazing family!...amazing dogs and amazing friends! Your blog radiates love and life....thank you for that.
On this day of sorrow, perhaps you can get a glimpse of what we see - beauty, love and life.

May God bless you this sad day...I have been there...I know what it's like!
