It is rare, but at times, Cricket might miss stopping at a curb, an overhanging branch that I brush into, or something else. When this occurs, if possible, it is important that you 'rework' the situation so she understands the importance of it. For example, yesterday when Cricket and I were walking back to the office, there is a little curb area that Cricket took a little shortcut and crossed off the curb and walked onto the grass. She knew we were going back to the office. When she did this, that put me tripping on this curb. It was a little trip and we almost could keep on walking. However, if I just keep on walking, she begins to think it is okay. So we rework the area - I drop her harness and walk back a few feet so we can walk again to this stop and she can stop at the curb, I praise her: good girl and we proceed.
Side note: Love these animal print sandals. They are a lot of fun and SO comfortable.

Good post! There's probably a good life lesson in there too -- so good to rework our little mistakes and go on from there. :-)
Alphi PR - so true! It is a great analogy.
