Be Well, Cricket and Love Quote

Cricket did not want to go to church this morning. This is unusual, she is a girl that likes to go anywhere for an adventure! Yesterday, she just didn't seem like herself as we went shopping: new running shoes, movie: Switch - love Jennifer Anniston. Review: the first part of the movie is awful - we almost walked out then it has a touching ending, California Pizza for dinner - super sweet restaurant manager - he offered Cricket steak! We declined, of course, and explained the training process to him. Cricket seemed just not herself. She guided but not with that bounce in her step. So, today midway through church when she coughed, I slipped out in case she was going to be sick. Thankfully not, but she just doesn't seem to be feeling well and seems a little sad. We'll watch her and take her in to the vet, if needed. At this point, the dialogue would go something like this: vet tech - so what are her symptoms: me - well, she seems a little sad and not herself. vet tech - is her eating/relieving patterns okay? me - well, yes but she just seems a little sad.

The short time at church today loved this message:

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

Mother Theresa.

Cricket Update:  Thanks for all your sweet comments.  Cricket feels so loved and has had a quiet day.  Perhaps, just what we both needed.

Some people don't understand how in tune a guide dog and their person really are...Hope Cricket feels better soon...

Thanks, Mary for the validation. Yes, its hard to put into words but pick up on their emotions as she does mine. Hmmm, I was just telling Steve I am feeling a little sad that summer is ending!

I totally know what you mean. Jayden will seem off but everything is fine, and then it passes. And usually it's when I'm a little off, too. I hope she gets to feeling better. Maybe she senses that summer is over, too?

Aw poor Cricket. Hope she feels happy again soon.

Poor Cricket. It's no fun to worry about a dog who cannot tell you what is wrong. I hope Cricket feels better soon.

Feel better soon, Cricket! I do understand what you mean Becky but you're right, it's hard to put these things into words at the vet's. I'm sure you're picking up on something from her, and dogs DO have emotions, no one can convince me otherwise!! With people, our physical and emotional well-being are so intertwined, and I imagine with dogs it may be much the same. Give her some extra love...

We hope Cricket is back fully fit and happy again soon!

We know just what you mean about dogs not seeming themselves - Murray has been very stressed over the past few days about going back to school and Clive has picked up on that totally and is following him around looking stressed himself! I'm trying to relax and calm them both down!

Hope Cricket feels better soon. Yeah I've had those types of conversations countless times with vets and techs over the years, but at this point my vet has learned to believe my intuitions as I am unfortunately rarely wrong. Sometimes you just "know" there is something wrong and you just have to keep pushing until your concerns are heard and acted upon appropritely.

Wow, I've never heard you say that Cricket was not her usual chipper self, so it's surprising somehow. Hope she's back to normal soon. Keep us posted!

Sometimes our dogs get bored with the daily routine just like we do. Its fun to mix it up a little. Worth a try? I hope cricket isn't sick and feels back to herself soon.

Erin - interesting note. I have been feeling like Cricket is a little bored with her routine and needs it mixed up a bit.
