Day Two Ride: Junction to Kanab, Utah (101 miles). We started our ride early at 5:45 am.
I enjoy putting the camera up and clicking pictures. I have a spot on Steve's back that gives a pretty good view of my vantage point. This picture is just after we had ridden an amazing long downhill - speed of up to 39 mph! On the back, I can just trust and sing wheeee!
I laughed as I left this convenience store with my white cane. I asked the clerk where the restroom was ... 'over there' as he points. (yikes, those dreaded words --over there) I ask him again requesting a little more specific directions. This time he atleast turns his head to the direction of 'there' which is a bit helpful. I move to that direction and again ask him. Keep on going he tells me. To make a long story short - I felt like I was playing the hot/cold game. Some specific directions would be awesome, sir! This is a four mile steep climb to Mt. Carmel. I love that one of our support crew drove up telling us - yes you can, yes you can! The picture below is of a police car parked with a mannequin in the driver's seat. I think it may slow down some tourists who are passing through and not aware that this car has not moved for quite some time!
We stayed in a cute little motel in Kanab ready for early morning wake up call to begin Day Three of our Cycling Adventure .
