Grounding

One of my 'grounding activities' is gardening. Cricket also loves this time to get a little dirty and be outside exploring.
Where flowers bloom, so does hope. Lady Bird Johnson
Sometimes I am asked how I garden as a person who is blind. I have our yard visualized in my head and generally weed, water and plant in the same pattern each time. At the start of the season, I might mistake a flower for a weed and pull it up -- but I have learned they replant just fine. I try to use a container to keep my yard tools in so that I am not continually searching for them. I love walking with Steve around the yard and experiencing the garden as we talk about what is planted and what is blooming. We can learn a lot from flowers.

Bloom where you are planted.

Beautiful flowers in the photos, Becky. I wondered how you were able to garden and now I know. I've been watching Amie Chapman's videos, Growing Up Guide Pup. Very educational and entertaining. The puppy raisers have such dedication!

"Bloom where you are planted" is a favorite of mine. You are such an amazing example of that quote. I love that you don't let your vision problems stop you from doing the things you love. You are such an example to so many people Becky! I have loved getting to know you and your fun personality through blogging.

One of Ralph Waldo Emerson's quotes is: The Earth smiles in Flowers. I keep the sign in my sun porch where flowers are usually in view. Your are an amazing person, Becky
