Therapist's Thoughts on Thursday

Cricket and I just returned from a great walk. It is a beautiful day with sunshine and of course, kibble in my pocket for good work! I found myself feeling so grateful that I could go for a walk and appreciating both mine and Cricket's good health. We stopped at a corner and celebrated giving her some kibble! I wished that I had some m & m's for me!

My clients tell me at times it takes courage to savor positive experiences. As Emily Dickinson wrote: I can wade grief -- Whole pools of it -- i'm used to that -- But the least push of Joy Breaks up my feet -- And I tip -- drunken --

I often invite clients to celebrate their strengths. What? they might say. If you'd like visit: authentic happiness and click on VIA Signature Strengths Questionnaire.

Celebrate your strengths!

You are right. Good health is truly a blessing. I often look at people who are struggling and wonder if I would be that cheerful and positive if that burden were mine. Good thoughts!
