Loved Learning in KC

As a certified thanatologist, I've been looking forward to the ADEC Annual Conference for several months! I was so happy that Steve was able to join us. It turned a conference into a fun vacation for us as well. As we entered the hotel the first day, Steve asked me if I knew anyone here, No! We laughed at my adventurous spirit. I was anxious to get oriented to where everything was in the hotel and begin to meet some colleagues from across the country (600 attended this conference). Such a big thank you to Steve (always) for helping me learn the hotel and coming to the first keynote session (Thomas Lynch) with us.  I loved having him share in my experience. Then, he had a chance to do some running, reading and working from our hotel room.
By day two, I felt oriented and also was amazed at how many friends we had made. I heard so many times, I've been watching your dog, she is so well behaved. By day three, we had exchanged cards with many and have many new friends from around the country to share.   The sessions were amazing - so many hours I had such a difficult time deciding which session to go to because there were several excellent topics. I thought of my clients and which ones might help me gain information to share with them. At the keynote session on day two, I won one of the prizes for $50 in the bookstore! Fun and actually supported that bookstore quite well.  What a delight to  be with so many that share the passion of working in the field of grief and loss.   I left this conference with some added dreams for my practice and how I can help others.
