Hip & Humble Fun

The ladies in my office recently surprised me with a giftcard to one of my favorite stores -- Hip & Humble with such sweet notes from each of them. It is not an easy store for a shopper who is blind -- narrow aisles, fun little home decor, jewelery, stationery, kitchen items tucked in various corners; but we find a way entering carefully ... oh so carefully with Cricket keeping her tail still and much description and help from the team at the store. Steve was really thrilled that this gift included Lisa taking me shopping to spend my gift card! We often say that we would enjoy shopping together whether or not I was blind ... however, we both agree this is one store he probably wouldn't come close if he wasn't my personal shopper! He is such a great sport. Thanks to my 'sisters' for the fun gift.

What a fun gift! Nothing like a gift card. I love that Cricket is such a great shopper. You really have trained that dog well! :)

I liked your mention of Cricket's tail. Sometimes, a happy dog is hazardous! The last couple times when Cabana and I were at the Guide Dogs campus, I kept thinking my purse or jacket were falling down and hitting me on my backside. Then, I realized it was Cabana's tail, wagging so furiously that it was hitting me!
