Mondays with Missy

Monday morning comes and usually Cricket and I are off to work and Missy finds her place on Cricket's bed. We tell Missy good bye and often a little envious of her starting the new week in such a relaxed way! Sometimes I check to make sure she is still breathing -- she gets in such a sound sleep as she has gotten older.
This Monday with the holiday of Martin Luther King Day we are home. Cricket does not seem too amused that Missy has taken over her bed.

As we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life today I share one of my favorite quotes from him: Our lives begin to end when we become silent about the things that matter. Part of the day's plan will be to listen to his I have a Dream speech and go to yoga! What do you plan to do?

Ha ha! The photos are hilarious, with Missy all stretched out on the big bed. Then with Cricket looking perturbed with the bed/Missy in the background!

I almost forgot it was MLK Day and that my girls have no school. I nearly woke them up at 7:00, but then suddenly, I remembered the holiday. If I had woken them up, they would have been as perturbed as Cricket!!

I love the photos. Honda will take over one of the dog beds & it's so funny to see this little cat in the middle of the bed.
Today, I took Steve's mom to lunch at Panera Bread & out shopping. We decided to split a salad instead of ordering soup. I thought of you!!!

I remember learning Martinl Luther King's 'I have a dream' speech for a public speaking competition in school many years ago.

Sounds like you chose a very day way to spend the day. Just a boring Monday here with school, swimming etc but it was the first mild day of the year so I got two hours in the garden - clearing up - which I loved.

Great photo of Missy on the bed.

take care

Mimi - Yes Cricket does let her emotions known! Funny - glad your girls got to sleep in and you and Cabana were able to get your walk in.

Toby - yes, Missy did eventually give the bed back.

Debi - oh sounds wonderful! MISS YOU!

Fiona - oh gardening sounds wonderful and such a special treat this time of year!
