While Natalie & Adam & Dahlia visited last week, Natalie pulled an all nighter putting together a DVD of our Christmas Eves. As Cat Stevens said: I never knew looking back on my laughter would make me cry." We have loved looking back and reminscing and tears of joy have come. Also will tresure the fun memories of together time now. Into the evening as Natalie was getting comfortable for the long project ahead, she requested her cruise slippers. Ah, such fun memories as I ran downstairs to retrieve these slippers.
Our guest room has some beautiful, special handmade items in it: a beautiful quilt hanging on the wall from a friend, a cross stitch quilt that my mom made 25 years ago
doilies and pillowcases made by my grandma.
Picture created by my mom that says: Friends look not with the Eyes but with the Heart.
I look back fondly to the guests that have stayed this year and also forward to the next guests that visit and can enjoy these special items made with such love. For several years I carefully stored them in a 'safe place' and then realized I need to enjoy and treasure them now. I look back on 2009 as a year of challenges, growth, love, laughter, and contentment. My Resolutions were set to achieve and I can say overall we did. I am going to get a little more specific with some resolutions this year ... pondering and will post tomorrow. Happy New Year's Eve in doing what you love to celebrate.

What beautiful keepsakes! I think that handmade things have so much meaning, knowing the love and hours that went into making them. What a beautiful room. Can I be a guest?!! ha ha!
Yes! We would love a visit from you and your family and Cabana.
I love handmade things too. They are extra special.
Congrats on achieving your resolutions and Happy New Year!
