In this picture, we are in purple - the color of awareness for Domestic Violence Month.
We just completed Domestic Violence Awareness Month. As I posted earlier in the month, more needs to be done to educate, talk, and STOP this from happening. As a therapist, I wish we had moreNatalie's talking and sharing and transforming such a sad, difficult experience into making the world a better place. As a mom, I love and am inspired by this girl each day. I am so grateful to be her mom, friend and learn from her each day. Go to her site, if you haven't already - its not too late to enter one of the giveaways and its never too late to talk, educate, and support as we put a stop to Domestic Violence. I am grateful each day for her courage and the beautiful daughter and son (in-law) that we are so blessed to have in our life now.

After having this occur in my extended family, I am very supportive and outspoken about the need for increased education! Thanks for posting that link.
Wearing the purple eye shadow today, a very appropriate color, and reminiscent of the bruising left by the batterer.
In my former marriage I was abused. Shame, embarrassment and humiliation allow the abuser to keep abusing. If you are in a relationship where there is rage, unreasonable jealousy and you feel you are being separated from your friends and family you could be next!
Run, get help from a therapist. See how your self worth issues make you vulnerable.
Sincerely, Susan and Mirage
Thank you Sarah and Susan for sharing. Hope you both entered the giveaways at the bobbypin.com!
