My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Today my client (age 8) and I celebrated a little victory by walking over to Arctic Circle for an ice cream cone. She wanted to hold on to Cricket's harness ... after we got through understanding that wouldn't work, she walked holding my hand. After a few minutes, she asked me - can you please ask Cricket to walk slower! Cricket did so willingly. Sometimes when you are being pulled, you don't realize how fast you are walking - especially with an 8 year old.

That is so sweet!
I wanted to say thank you (Albeit a bit late) for your comment on my post! Really means a lot to me! Somedays and times are really overwhelming, I try to not think about it and just enjoy our time together, but that doesn't always work!
How funny, my girls are always asking me to slow down! You too can easily forget how short their little legs are too!
Coreena - thank you ... that is sure understandable how you are feeling.
Lacey - yes, I can picture your cute girls saying that!
Oh how sweet. I would have liked to have seen you guys walking together.
Tom is always asking me to slow down when I am out with the GDB pups. They are some fast walkers!
Super cute...the simple things in life (ie, an ice cream cone) make life special....
Oh, how cute!
