Beautiful Tree in Memory of Ezra

While I was at the Guide Dogs for the Blind Campus in Oregon this past weekend, I wanted to be able to see the beautiful dogwood tree in Memory of Ezra. Michelle Davis was able to take us there and take our picture! (It was so much fun to meet her also. What an incredible woman.) In a few weeks it will be in bloom. Michelle and Debi both commented on the beautiful shape and many blossoms that are ready to burst in celebration of Ezra's life. Soon their will also be a plaque in his memory near the tree.
Ezra's family are in the same puppy club as Cricket was for part of her puppy raising days. Sending my love to his family. I found myself feeling like I was on special ground as we walked near his tree.

Thank you Becky, that's a nice photo. I can't wait to see Ezra's tree in bloom. Our group has 2 puppies in phase 10 at the moment, so we are hoping to make it down to a graduation soon and we'll see Ezra's tree at that time. Yours, kandice

Becky--It looks like we will do the Ezra tree dedication on June 27th, which will coincide with a graduation, although possibly not with the 2 pups from Guide Puppies of Seattle (Henrietta and Chaz) who are in Phase 10 of Guide Dog 'college' and waiting to be matched with a partner. Ezra's twin, Milo, is performing in Seattle in a Broadway Bound production of "Once Upon a Mattress" on May 30, which is the next GDB graduation. Milo and Ezra auditioned at the same time and were to find out their parts on the day that Ezra was taken to the hospital. I hope that you will come to the dedication, and we will be sure to let you know exactly when it will be. I love checking on your Blog and seeing our dear Cricket. As Kim says, Cricket won the Guide Dog lottery! --Heidi

Kandice - I thought of you so much as we were at GDB campus and near Ezra's tree. I am glad you will be able to go down and see it soon. Thinking of you ...

Heidi - June 27th for a dedication sounds lovely. Will be exciting to hear where Henrietta and Chaz go! Oh sweet - I think I scored the jackpot with Cricket!
