I watched the following clip and shed some tears of gratitude.
http://www.king5.com/video/index.html?z=y&nvid=310746&shu=1 I don't think I can ever comprehend fully the act of love and service to take an adorable puppy in at 8 weeks - raise and care for them 12-15 months and then say goodbye as they return to Guide Dogs for the Blind for further training and future placement with an individual who is blind. I know in the spirit of Christmas they say it is better to give than receive.
I am on the receiving end of this beautiful gift of first Pantera and now Cricket. How do you ever thank someone for the four-legged gift of freedom, independence, and mobility (coupled with so much love and personality)? Thanks again to all of you who are raising future guides or dogs who will have other careers. It is amazing and inspires me each day to take your example and love and serve in some small way. Thank you in particular to Meg, Michelle, and Kim - raisers of my two guides.
