I bought Steve a little early Christmas gift today ... a nativity from the Phillippines where he served for two years - 32 years ago. Okay, honestly this gift was for me! Part of my holiday tradition is to begin to put all my nativity sets out before Thanksgiving- it helps me get in the spirit of Christmas, but I don't feel like I am rushing with Christmas before Thanksgiving. I don't even know how many sets I have now (not as many as my mom). When the kids were younger and we were trying to help them remember the meaning of Christmas we made sure we had atleast one Nativity Set in every room in the house. Natalie and Kendall's rooms are full of stuff but not them these days but I found myself putting a little nativity set in each of their rooms today ... call me sentimental!
Made in the Phillippines
The Willow Tree set (I haven't got the backdrop because I think its ridiculous how much they are charging for it!)
Miniature ones from ... Israel, Italy, Texas & France & Natalie
This set came from China
This one I painted when I was a teenager
This set I painted when we were first married. There are many more that each time I set them out bring special memories of where we bought them or who gave them to me.

Awesome mom!! I love you nativity sets in every room. I put all of ours in our kitchen/dining room area -- so I feel like we have a lot in one area, but it's kind of nice!!

How nice, you have some really nice sets. I love the painted pink and white one that is super cute. My mom also collects nativity sets. We always do our Christmas decorating the sunday after Thanksgiving and we have two rooms full of nativity sets from everywhere. I love having them around and looking at all the different interpretations of the same event. :)

What a fun tradition! I would love to do that...I just don't know where I'd set them. Maybe when the kids are older??! My nativity consist of a "Little People" nativity set. The girls LOVE it and it's great because I don't have to worry about it getting broken.

They are beautiful. I love how they come from all over. I LOVE nativity sets. I have one that keeps growing and growing every year where I add a piece. Since I don't have room for a tree, the nativity set is my tree! :)

Ahhhh the memories. I collect Christmas ornaments from the places that we visit. Every year it brings back special memories when I hang them on our tree.
