New Blender

I broke our blender this past week ...(new one on the left - broken one on the right) I did what I do periodically to things that are on the counter - wham off to the tile floor to be broken into many pieces! This blender is plastic so it has survived many times of being knocked off the counter but it is about 23 years old! Yes, I think if you ask our kids - this blender was part of the family before they were! Isn't it interesting how some appliances last for years and others don't make it through a year! In case we are counting ... also broke a vase this week and have a new gash on my shin. I usually don't keep track ... Steve usually has the same sweet response - are you okay (when he hears the loud crash) then after he realizes I am going to survive --oh we needed a new ___ (blender, vase, glass...). After 23 years, I think we probably did need a new blender!

It must be an "our parents" thing - my mom is the same way. She will pull something out that looks classic, I will call it - and then I tell her its OK to spend $$ on a new one...glad you are no worse for the wear and that Cricket knew enough to beware - Chelsie stays so close to me, esp in the kitchen, something would have fallen on her.

Nicole; I think Cricket has learned to be a little leery of falling/flying objects in the kitchen!

I can't believe you still have that blender. Seriously! What brand was that, I want one!

Oster is the brand ... and it gets used nightly these days with dad's protein shakes!
