Eleven years ago...

Eleven years ago today I said goodbye to Steve and our kids - Natalie was 11 and Kendall was 9 and flew to the Oregon campus of Guide Dogs for the Blind for 4 weeks to get a guide dog! I had worries at that point, I didn't with my second guide dog, Cricket, -- the logistics of a young family with mom being gone, what would our life be like when I returned with the new member of the family, and simply not wanting to leave them for 4 weeks! But, the desire of being able to walk safely and confidently through life and great support from home, helped me push through these fears and get on that plane.

I'm so glad that you had the courage to board that plane for GDB, otherwise our paths would have never crossed. Also, think of all the wonderful experiences you would have missed out on......
