Good Girl, Cricket!

Life is an adventure and new experiences for a guide dog! Today Cricket encountered some stairs she was not happy about. She walked me to the edge of the stairs and then stopped as I felt the stairs I realized they have a textured surface. Steve offered to carry Cricket up the stairs and I could hold on to the rail. (Cricket prefers to avoid puddles, grates, and any other textured surface if possible) But, just as he was about to lift her up she decided she could do it and we ran up the stairs. Good girl, Cricket.

Cricket, I too am freaked out by stairs I can see through - this chick does NOT do heights.

That's hilarious that she does not do puddles...Truth does not either. It has earned her the name "Princess Paws". She even went so far as to attempt to jump over one once - her mom quickly figured out what she was about to do, and told her "I DO NOT LEAP" It was hilarious. Another time we were on our walk when a sprinkler was running...I gave Sharon the ok and told her to hurry up, but Truth was not fast enough and got it right in the face. I have never seen her with such a look on her face - it clearly stated "I did not sign up for this" I told her that if she had listened to me and had hurried up, we would not be having this discussion....

Oh, I love the title 'Princess Paws' ...Cricket would definitely fit in that category. This was big for her to take the initiative and speedily walk up these stairs!

What an awesome girl she is!!! Those type of grate stairs are awful & I'm sure they feel quite different for dog paws. We have a dock ramp made out of the same type of metal & both Desma & Dakota do not like them, not at all! Good job, Cricket. Love, Debi
