My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Smile

Tuesday we spent the day at the hospital (Steve was having surgery - is home recovering now :).  One of the doctors wanted to know all about Georgie and how he could possibly adopt a Career Change or Retired Guide.  Most of the time I am happy to answer questions but in this moment I wanted him to focus on taking good care of Steve :).   As he was taking Steve out he said, we'll finish this conversation when I get back.  I gave Steve a kiss and encouraged the doctor to take good care of him!  Georgie is just so darn cute its hard for her not to steal the show.
Absolutely love these small blankets my friend, Mimi,  made for Georgie - great for cold floors and fit so nice in my purse!
Love, love Georgie's leash from Mandy and my comfy Tom's.

Grateful Steve's recovery is going well and he should be back to work on Monday.  Funny story about 'helping' Steve this week.  He is one of the few on the block still taking the print newspaper! Generally he walks out and gets it on the driveway.  This week he hasn't been able to do that simple task.  Oh, such a non-simple task for his blind wife to find that darn newspaper on the driveway :)!  I am happy to say we have conquered it each morning!!  Long-term I would have taught Georgie to find it.   I am happily turning that task over to Steve tomorrow morning :).

Have a great weekend!  Tonight I'm glad the alarm isn't set for 2 AM like last Friday night for the marathon!
