Cricket's Travels

I've reflected a lot the past 12 days since Cricket's final flight home as a guide dog on her travels as a guide dog.  Between my work, family fun, speaking opportunities and serving on various boards; Cricket has travelled a lot.  She loved when the suitcase came out and was always so excited to go on an adventure! Cricket was an excellent, easy traveller.  She took it all in stride whether it was busy NYC or a simple, relaxing vacation.  Perhaps, it was fitting that her final day at work was a flight home.
Next week a girls trip is scheduled in sunny Arizona with two friends of over 20 years who also have guide dogs.  This was going to be Cricket's last trip.  She opted to turn in her retirement date a little early.   It will seem strange to not attach her fleece to my suitcase.  I'm going to miss having her guide me through the airport with such ease.  Love you Cricker girl.

Retirement Party is set:  Evening of March 8th at our home!  Its going to be a fun celebration of an incredible guide dog! Searching for a fun retirement headband for her to wear :).
