My little red tether is my anchor in running with my friends. A beautiful guide dog has been my tether/anchor in mobility and independence for 17 years: 1. Pantera 2. Cricket, and now my beautiful 3. Georgina (Georgie). A life of family and friends is my joy and anchor in life.

Reflections of the day

Flexibility. It is something I have become pretty good at with Retinitis Pigmentosa. I was meeting two friends for lunch at City Creek. I blocked out my morning and early afternoon at work so there was no pressure on time. We were meeting at 11:30 and Steve could drop me off at 9:45 before his meeting at 10 and came back at 1 to pick me up.  Okay, what's a girl and a guide dog to do with an hour and a half but shop. The shopping freeze was lifted :).  I love JCrew's knee-length shorts ... 14.99 today.  Yes - khaki and navy!  Next, ventured to Ann Taylor.  After our visit in January, they are incredible and super helpful!  They helped me find a couple fun tops - again bargains.

Lunch - Amazing.  Connected with two amazing women who also have eye conditions.  The time flew by as we could just relate with each other and what we have experienced.  Thank you! I hope we get a chance again soon to pick up where we left off.  I reflect on the wonderful people I have met because of Retinitis Pigmentosa.  I am indeed grateful.

Tandeming (is that a word?) through life.  My mom gave me this awesome picture of a tandem bike!  How cool, right.  Its not like you find pictures of tandem bikes that often.  Trust me, Steve keeps his eyes open.  I put it in my office and keep having clients say ...that is you :).  I'm not sure how well it goes with the other pictures in the office but I'm loving knowing it is there.
Tethering through life.  We ran this morning with my friends and my dear red tether!  Its so great to be back running!  On the other hand, Steve is sitting here with his foot iced and we are hoping it is not broken.  Small fridge (okay, even a small fridge is heavy!) fell on his foot as we were moving it.  I just happen to have a boot he can borrow until he gets x-rays soon.  We've got 75 people coming over Saturday for our office party so the timing isn't too swell.  We'll keep you posted.

Update:  Steve has damaged tendons ... strain -- no breaks.  Yay!

We are laughing and enjoying the ride with its ups and downs, right!
