Tandem Cycling. So awesome.

We biked the MS150 ride (75-mile option) today in beautiful Cache Valley. This is where Steve and I both grew up so it is just so lovely to go back and go for this ride!  We reminisce and have a great time!  It was a great ride with over 3000 riders raising money to support those with MS.  We laugh at all the funny comments a tandem brings up for people ... she's not pedaling, she's doing all the work in the back, hey did you know someone is following you, ...
One of the stops offered pickle juice to help with leg cramps?  Just had to taste ... I'll pass next time for more oranges, apples, and watermelon!
I was pedaling on the back taking in the beauty of the morning ... being with someone I love and enjoying the experience and clicked the picture below with my phone.  I set my phone back in what I thought was my pocket - missed the pocket and it dropped on the road with lots of cyclists going by.  Crazy moment. Thankfully, the cyclists and even a truck missed from running over it. It is shattered but still functioning :).
At one of the stops a man came up to us and asked us if we thought this would be a good activity for him and his girlfriend that was blind.  We laughed and said we thought so .. we sure do!  Cricket was well cared for by my mom ... THANKS, MOM!

So glad to see you had a wonderful time. MOM and I thought of you as we were hiking and crossing rivers. I think I would pass on the pickle juice. Watermelon all the way!
Blessings,

Goose - you are so sweet to think of us! Hiking and crossing rivers sounds like an awesome way to spend a hot day!

Pickle juice! After a long bike ride, my husband sometimes craves pickles, must be the salt. Now that we have our tandem, I am starting to really get into it and am enjoying the together time. I will have to check on what charity rides are around us on the East Coast since they sound like a great way to spend the day.

Ah, the MS150! My husband used to ride it yearly when we lived in Utah as a dear friend of ours (from Springville) has MS. It was always such a fun weekend; I miss it. We keep talking about getting back down for it but it's not as easy with 3 kids as it was when it was just us.

Glad no one hit your phone! I'm always nervous about putting stuff back in my pockets when cycling for that very reason.

Do you ever come across handcycle people?

Yes - Steve said there were a few on this ride! Have you ridden before?
