Sharing my day

Tonight I had a meeting in my church. We were to go early to set up chairs. I like to do my part and listened to how they were setting up the room. . At one point, I reached out to move a chair where there wasn't a chair. One of the members of the board that I served with laughed and said - wow, that is one of the first times that I have realized you actually can't see. We laughed and I said if you hang around me for a while you will notice :) and thats okay.
I am loving this orange skirt that Natalie and I found in our latest shopping adventure at Ann Taylor!  I think whenever I put it on I will smile at our laughing together.  What fun!  I love the fabric - no wrinkles or dog hair!  And of course, you know I love my polka dot shirt :).

Today I went to breakfast with my friends that I run (guess I need to put that in past/future tense) with.  It was awesome to see them and get caught up ... missing our daily runs to process life!

As I mentioned, Cricket has been quite concerned about her injured handler.  She is a very sweet tender hearted dog who picks up energy from others in such an amazing way.  Several of my colleagues have experienced special moments with Cricket when she was aware of them having a hard day.   I called the support center at Guide Dogs for the Blind today on my concern over my red nosed - not sleeping through the night Cricket.  They were so very helpful and gave me some wonderful tips.  I found myself thinking ... these sound somewhat familiar to what I  may say to a client who is experiencing some anxiety:  Check in - what's bothering her - reassure her its okay, then find a distracting behavior ... a kong with peanut butter or a new bone, increase her level of activity - walks with Steve and some play time in the fenced area or with her friend Dahlia, keep her routine as normal as possible - even though she isn't doing as much guide work right now she can still go with me to my office and be a part of the day, keep the bedroom as the place to sleep - perhaps tie down for a while if needed til she gets back in her sleep mode.

How was your day?

Well since you asked. I had a pretty good day. But any day you can chase bubbles is a good day. Hope cricket gets back to her self.
Blessings,
Goose

Goose, I am so glad you had a pretty good day! Chasing bubbles sounds wonderful - maybe Cricket should try that one. I bet she would have so much fun playing with you!!
