Listening to the doctor

As I got x-rays for my foot today I laughed that Cricket seemed to know the drill. She has to go in the other room while the pictures are taken. This is my third broken bone since having Cricket! Pantera was there for two or was it three broken bones :)? After we were finished with the x-rays I told Cricket Find Steve. She knew just what I meant, of course, and walked back through the hallway turned a corned and back in to the waiting area to find Steve! So cool.  Good girl, Cricket.  They have a special bond.   They've been taking some nice walks together while my walking is limited.

Some days I wear the brace and other days I have been able to wear the Skechers Shape-up shoes which takes the weight off the broken bone.  (I just wish Skechers made a nice dress shoe to go with my dress (that I love!) to wear in NYC next week!)  Life is an adventure isn't it!  It's a long recovery before back to running.  However, I will listen to the doctor.  I have no choice - it hurts!   Eight weeks from the injury date he told me I could run a mile.  Not very far but May 25th I'll be running a mile!   Good bye Ogden Marathon,  Good bye Ragnar with the family ... HELLO Cycling - lots of tandem cycling with Steve this summer.  He said cycling was very good for my foot.  Yay.

As you can see by Cricket's nose ... she's feeling a little stressed by it all.

Final words at the doctor today... no running or driving :).   I don't expect the driving to come back anytime soon but am hopeful the running will in time.  Patience, right now :)!

Yes you must listen to the doctor. MOM and I are a little sad however we will not meet you at the Ogden race. But better to be able to run another day and be well. Cricket is a smart girl for sure. Amazingly I know the names of MOM's friends and when she tells me to find one of them, I do.
Blessings,
Goose

On happy days and on tough days, I always anticipate reading your blog, because your wonderful heart and mission and joy in life inevitably remind me of what God and his grace are trying to create in the world. May you race on (foot healed!) and God speed!

You need a sign close by - "Keep Strong and Carry On!" =) Just by luck we taught Haddie the "Find" command and it was awesome. I didn't pick up that we had done that until she was much older, but we always seemed to say, "Find (fill in the blank)" when we were casually talking to her. She picked it up. As far as I know, it is not a CCI command, so it was the coolest "trick" that we taught her. I loved watching her "Find" her family, or ball, etc ... so FUN!
