In this life together

We were walking along our trail in St. George this weekend (5 miles one day, 3 miles another day).  I said to Cricket, are you smiling? She had her bounce in her step and was enjoying being outside and walking alongside even if she wasn't in work mode.   Cricket has loved and served tirelessly for the last five years and her time off, due to her surgery recovery, has given us both pause to remember how much we love being a team.  Its a gift that we can't take for granted.  We have been creative the past month on what our teamwork looks like right now.  We don't like being a part.  Experiences that are so easy with Cricket are challenging right now.   She runs to the door and tries to come even when she can't right now.  So hard.   Fortunately, she can still come to work with me.  We have gotten more take-out so that we don't have to leave her to go out.
Without her as a guide has meant more walking hand in hand with my best friend, Steve.    Love him and appreciate that he is in this life together with me in whatever we are doing.  We laughed a lot this weekend in St. George.  It was great.   Also wonderful to spend time with my awesome parents and a long lunch with a dear friend in the St. George sunshine.
We returned home ready to take on another busy week.  Excited that on the agenda for Wednesday is staples out for the Cricket girl.

I'm so glad Cricket is able to go on walks with you, and to your work! I'm sure everyone there loves her!

It's wonderful to hear how Cricket has recovered. Hmmm ... you seem to be surrounded by those in recovery (clients and your guide). That's the nature of a therapist, huh? :-)

Wednesday will be a good day!

Oh, I have been gone so long from the blogging world that I didn't know Cricket was injured? I hope she recovers soon.

You must be so relieved to be getting Cricket back to work so soon.
