A Village

I hope you had a nice weekend! Generally, I like a weekend with family, friends, church, and some nice downtime. After our conference on Friday, it proved to be much downtime. Steve, Kendall and my dad were in Boise at the Utah State Football game. Oh heartbreak. They lost by one point with 13 seconds remaining. Oh so sad. Love our Aggies.

After my seminar on Friday my colleague/dear friend and I were able to spend some time together. She is an incredible friend and wanted to understand further what my journey of Retinitis Pigmentosa was like. As we sat there with her asking me questions, I found myself being so touched by her desire to just understand my world.

Natalie, Adam, and Dahlia are here.  We are loving having them with us.  Sunday evening was spent decorating gingerbread houses.  This picture of our finished homes has me reflecting on the joy of 'a village' of family and friends in our life.
A run this morning in the crisp air with a friend gives me energy to start another week. How was your weekend? What gives you energy for Monday morning?

How beautiful and fun! We usually bake gingerbread and decorate houses, but we haven't done it this year. I was thinking we might just forego the tradition--but now your post makes me want to make them, too!

Mimi;
Wow. Well these were preassembled from Costco so it was nice and easy :). We got to just decorate and eat lots of candy (me)!
