Two in One

This coat is one of my favorite for those cold Utah days. First of all, it brings back sweet memories. I found this coat on a January clearance - $25 dollars at ZCMI. So, if you are from Utah you know its got to be several years old just with that information. I was with my first guide, Pantera who retired five years ago.  Pantera and I used to walk through a mall to make our bus transfer.  I haven't worked at the Moran Eye Center for eight years.  So, doing the math the coat has got to be atleast over eight years old.  This old coat was a bargain, is so warm, and is a two in one.
This coat makes a wonderful blanket for Cricket.  She really enjoys having something warm to snuggle up to when we are going to be a while (church, dentist, a longer meeting, etc).  Today I laid it down at the dentist office and she snuggled right up on it.  Its just the right color to hide Cricket hair and make a nice bed for her and then be transformed back into my coat!  If you can see her face, you will know she is not impressed that I have asked her to model for this picture.
I love versatile clothes/coats that serve more than one purpose and this coat has done so for many years :).

oh Becky, you have no idea how happy it makes me that other people regularly shed their jackets to create beds for their dogs! I sometimes do this in my classes but feel like people might think I'm off my rocker when I put the coat right back on after class. Oh, the things we do for our dogs....

Love it! When I took my first puppy to school, one of my teachers actually went searching for a sweatshirt for her to lay on in class so she wouldn't have to lay on the hard tile floor :)

A multi-purpose coat & finding it at a bargain price, with an added bonus of a soft place for doggies to cuddle in......what more could you want!!

Lovely coat and lovely story, Becky. I think Cricket posed beautifully and I love the idea that your coat serves as a doggie-comforter :)
Also, I wanted to pop by and wish a happy Christmas to you and your wonderful family.
