Not our typical walk

Cricket and I have a walk that we do on most days up to the corner of 400 E/Pages Ln and often stop in at Dicks.  It might be a little boring for Cricket, and there aren't many ways to vary it without really going out of our way.  Today we walked it three times each with a little excitement!   Once, we walked it simply to walk, then later we remembered we needed some treats for a group that I had, and later we walked nearby for eyebrow waxing (ouch!).  However, every walk had some added adventure!  First, as we were crossing the street we heard a horn honking very loudly.  In my mind, I wondered if we were doing something wrong?  - someone really was trying to get our attention.  Then, as we got safely to the side of the street, someone hollered out hi becky.  fyi - there are better ways to say hi to a person who is blind.  It was a little unsettling.  Second walk up, we encountered a loose dog.  Fortunately, Max was a friendly loose dog that was ignoring his owner's request to come and  kept trying to distract Cricket.  We finally just stopped and Cricket sat while the owner got control of their dog.  Last walk, there were several shopping carts blocking the sidewalk far from the grocery store.  Cricket had to stop and work around them.  She earned her extra kibble  on her walks today.  This evening we enjoyed a walk near the temple where it was super crowded.  No wonder Cricket is snoring at my feet.  Good girl, Cricket.

Good girl, Cricket.
And you're right-there are much better ways to say hi to a blind person. LOL

Good to know about not honking at a blind person. That's the kind of silly thing I would do!!

Wow what a walk! I love when a walk is varied. You never know who you're gonna meet or what you're gonna meet on a walk!

I hate when people hunk at you. When i'm crossing a street cars will always stop. I just wait until they go past or someone shouts that I can cross. My friend who is also blind had someone wave and flash his lights at her!

Xxx.

I'd say Cricket was very deserving of his nap.

What a good girl Cricket is. Staying calm with Max trying to get her going, guiding you safely through the carts. You two are amazing.
