Hope

Yesterday I lost my keys. Searching for something lost is not my favorite thing being blind (or not)! Over the years I have improved so much on systems of keeping track of things.  Steve is generally, my hero, on finding what I have lost. He says often it can be really easy as the missing item is in plain sight:).  However, yesterday not so easy. He searched everywhere in my office, including the dumpster (which had fireworks in it over the weekend!) for my keys. I love him so opted not to post the picture of him using the coat stand to pull out the garbage to search through to find my keys! Today when Cricket and I were outside, I sat down on this bench and my keys were there! I must have dropped them yesterday and someone put them on this bench - sometimes a favorite place to sit and talk with a client outside.
Speaking of hope- today I spent time processsing hopelessness with clients. We reframed hopeless thoughts to hopeful affirmations.  It can give us hope to look at some things a little differently.

When the world says, Give up, Hope whispers, Try it one more time.

Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn't permanent. Jean Kerr

What oxygen is to the lungs, such is hope to the meaning of life. Emil Brunner

Hope is a renewable option: If you run out of it at the end of the day, you get to start over in the morning. Barbara Kingsolver

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi there Becky...
I'm so glad you eventually found your keys. Must have been terribly frustrating.
What a wonderful collection of descriptions for Hope. Can I add my own?
HOPE: Is something we imagine, but have not YET achieved...If we can imagine it, it is a possibility and we can achieve it...that is hope.

Glad you found the keys but sorry it meant raking through rubbish first. I realy enjoyed those words on hope and wish I could remember them sometimes as they are so true. Hugs GJ xx

What a great ending to a frustrating saga. I hate losing things too (my phone is currently lost...batteries dead so can't find it by calling...arrggh!)

Good thoughts on hope and its importance. "Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love."

Have a great weekend!!

Ha ha, I like how you say you love Steve and so you didn't post the garbage photo! Not posting unflattering photos on your blog = true love!

Sorry about your keys. Someone must make a key finder, some sort of paging device on a keychain. We have that for our cordless phone, so we can find it when it gets stuck in between the couch cushions.

Love your quotes on hope. I might need to borrow them for our animal shelter, which is going through tough times.

Sometimes I guess, Hope is all we have.
